How to Get More Google Reviews for Your Clinic

By Nils Agerberg · 23 June 2026

Before a new patient ever speaks to you, they read your reviews. If you have nine and the clinic up the road has three hundred, you have lost before you started, even when your work is better. Reviews are the first thing people check and the last thing most clinics get around to.

The good news is that getting more is simpler than it looks. The clinics with hundreds of reviews are not lucky and they are not special. They have a habit. Here is how to build the same one.

Why reviews matter more than almost anything else

Two reasons. First, trust. A wall of recent, genuine reviews tells a nervous new patient that real people walked in and were happy. Nothing you say about yourself does that.

Second, Google. Your Google Business Profile is the biggest factor in whether you show up when someone nearby searches for a treatment, and the number and freshness of your reviews feed straight into that. More reviews means more visibility, which means more patients, who leave more reviews. It compounds.

Ask every patient, every time

This is the whole secret, and almost nobody does it consistently. The clinics that win ask every happy patient, at the moment they are happiest, which is right after the result while they are still looking in the mirror and smiling.

Do not wait until later. Do not ask only the ones you remember. Ask everyone, at the peak, every single time. If that sounds like a lot to keep on top of, that is exactly why it should be a system and not a memory.

Make leaving one take seconds

A patient who has to search for your clinic, scroll, and find the review button will not bother. A patient who taps a link and types two sentences will.

  • Send a direct review link by text the moment they leave.
  • Put a small card or a QR code at reception that drops straight onto the review page.
  • Keep the ask short and human. “If you have ten seconds, a quick Google review really helps us” beats a paragraph.

The easier you make it, the more you get. That is the entire game.

Reply to all of them, good and bad

New patients read your replies as closely as the reviews. A clinic that thanks people and answers calmly looks like a clinic that cares.

Reply to the good ones briefly and warmly. For a bad one, never argue. Thank them, acknowledge it, and offer to put it right offline. A measured reply to a harsh review often does more for your reputation than the five star ones, because it shows how you handle things when they go wrong.

If a review is fake or breaks Google’s rules, you can flag it for removal. Do not let one unfair comment pull you into a public fight you cannot win.

What not to do

Do not buy reviews and do not pay for them with a discount or a free treatment. It breaks Google’s policies and it can get your profile penalised or your reviews wiped. It is also obvious to patients, who can smell a wall of suspiciously perfect five star reviews from across the room. Real reviews, earned by asking, are slower to build and worth far more.

Make it run without you

The clinics drowning in reviews are not working harder at this. They have made it automatic. Every patient gets the ask, every time, with a link that takes seconds, and any difficult review gets a calm reply. Once that runs in the background, your reputation grows whether you think about it or not.

That is one of the pieces we build into the full marketing plan for aesthetic clinics, alongside the website, getting found on Google, and catching the calls you miss. Reviews are the cheapest trust you will ever earn. Start asking today and they keep paying you back for years.
